Premier League: Liverpool news: Mohamed Salah claim made by Jurgen Klopp before PSG clash | Football | Sport

Those are the thoughts of Liverpool boss , who is preparing his side for the trip to face Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League later today (8pm).

After a stunning 44-goal haul for the Reds last term, Salah was far from explosive at the start of this campaign.

Having hit the net three times in his first 11 appearances for the Anfield outfit this season, Salah has rediscovered his golden touch, scoring six times in his last seven outings.

The Egyptian reached the 50-goal milestone for Liverpool in a club-record 65 appearances.

And while Klopp wasn’t expecting Salah to repeat the exploits of last term, he thinks it was just a matter of time before he would fire again.

He said: “For the first time in his life it was clear that after scoring more than 40 goals, how do we deal with that?

“Obviously you all struggled a bit to deal with that. Will he score 40 goals again?

“You cannot score 40 goals in the first three games and how can he be convinced 100 per cent that he scores again 40 goals?

“Is it even important to score 40 goals again? Of course not.

“It is just a personal situation. Do we talk about it or not? Do we leave it?

“He always tried everything. The only thing was his body needed time to adapt.

“Still a world-class player, still a threat in a game, but in the scoring situations not the same calmness, coolness, whatever.

“Since before the last international break it was completely obvious in each session, it clicked again, he’s there.

“It was just a time factor. It is only that we don’t give them time because we don’t have the time. The season starts – ‘be ready’.”

All four sides in Group C have a chance of qualifying, with Napoli facing Red Star Belgrade in the other game (8pm).

And the Reds have been given a boost with Sadio Mane passed fit for the game.
